About Our Company

In addition to sponsoring weekly dance
classes, Applause! Applause! Performing Arts Center is home to the Aoibhneas
an Rince
Irish Dancers, a performing company of Irish dancers, ages 8 -
50-something. The “Joy of Dance” is both the English name
and creed of the Aoibhneas an Rince Irish Dancers. The
joy of exploring this dance form is expressed through the performance
of Irish step and figure dancing in a mixture of the traditional and
the updated, “Riverdance,” styles. This
ensemble made their debut in February, 1997, at the opening night
festivities for the Arena Stage production of Molly Sweeney.
They have since been busy performing at local festivals and school and
community events, including appearances at the American Ireland Fund
Gala at the National Building Museum and with Gaelic Storm, the
band featured in the movie, Titanic.
